Shallow sand filters are composed of one or more standard high-speed filtration units. Water with high turbidity flows through internal water distributors and collectors, and under a certain pressure, through a certain thickness of natural sea sand, effectively intercepts and removes suspended solids, organic matter, colloidal particles, microorganisms, chlorine, odors, and some heavy metal ions in the water, ultimately achieving the effect of reducing water turbidity and purifying water quality. Working Principle

Filter Status

When the system is in the filtering state, unfiltered water is evenly distributed through the water distributor, and the water passes through the packing layer in the filter in a laminar flow state. When water flows through the packing layer, impurities are trapped within the packing layer. There are multiple evenly distributed water collectors at the bottom of the filter, which collect and lead the filtered water evenly. Advection filtration allows the filter to filter at high flow rates and still achieve better filtration effects.

 


Backwash Status

As impurities continue to accumulate in the packing layer, the internal pressure head loss will continue to increase. When the inlet and outlet water pressure head loss reaches the set value, the system will automatically activate the constant pressure device to switch to the backwash state. When the backwash of the filter tank is completed, the hydraulic valve changes the water supply direction to achieve backwash one by one. Easier to clean accumulated impurities.


When the system enters the backwashing state, the on-off position of the three-way valve of the tank being backwashed is changed through PLC control (the inlet is closed, the sewage outlet is opened), and the other tanks are in a normal state, and water can only flow into the other tanks for filtration. , a part of the filtered water flows backward from the water outlet into the filtered tank. Driven by hydraulic power, the natural sea sand and impurities wash each other, and the impurities are taken away by the water through the valve drain outlet. At this time, the water distribution The device intercepts the filter material.


After the first tank is cleaned, it works normally and starts cleaning the second tank. It repeats again until the last tank is cleaned, at which time the backwashing work ends.

Power saving: The system has a unique automatic backwash valve. The sand filter tanks are not backwashed at the same time, but are backwashed one by one under normal operation of the system. Water saving: Due to its unique water replenisher and water collector, the system has a unified tank size, so that no compressed air is needed during backwashing, so that the medium layer can expand very evenly for effective backwashing. The water used for backwashing is filtered clean water, so the amount of backwash water consumed is small. The backwash water volume of a single tank is only 1m3/min, and the backwash time is 2-3 minutes.


Save maintenance costs: The entire system does not have mechanical or electric valves, and only relies on a unique multi-function valve to control the backwash of the system. Because the unique multi-function valve has no wear and long life, there is no record of damage within 10 years, and the management cost is low.
