There are three types of self-cleaning filters: suction type, brush type, and backwash type. Their operation is different. They can both filter impurities in the water, but the steps are still different. The filtration effect is still the same. They are used in many industries.
The self-cleaning filter uses a filter screen to directly intercept impurities, remove particulate matter in the water, reduce turbidity, and purify water quality. After the fluid to be filtered enters the filter, due to the intelligent design of the self-cleaning filter, the system can automatically identify the degree of impurity deposition. Once the impurities are deposited to a corresponding level, the system will automatically send a signal to the blowdown valve for automatic blowdown cleaning.
What are the working principles of the three types of self-cleaning filters? Let’s tell you about it below.
(1) Brush Type: Impurities are deposited on the screen, causing a pressure difference. When the pressure difference reaches the preset value, the electronic controller sends a signal to the hydraulic control valve to drive the motor signal, which will cause action. The motor drives the brush to rotate and clean the filter. At the same time, open the control valve for sewage discharge.
(2) Suction Type: After the fluid to be filtered passes through the coarse filter and reaches the fine filter, a layer of impurities will be deposited on the inside of the fine filter, causing a pressure difference between the inside and outside of the fine filter. When this pressure difference reaches the preset value, the filter will start cleaning automatically. At this time, when the cleaning valve is opened, suction will be generated in the suction pipe to clean all impurities.
(3) Backwash Type: After the impurities are deposited on the fine filter, a pressure difference is formed. When the pressure difference reaches the preset value, the drain valve opens, and the relevant parts release the pressure to allow the water to drain out. At this time, a negative pressure is formed, and the pressure difference reaches the preset value. Under the action of pressure, some impurities on the filter are cleaned, and the water flows out of the drain valve. During this process, the filter is always in operation and will not be affected in any way.
The self-cleaning filter is a widely used water filter. Using its three different operating methods, it can help companies solve sewage treatment problems and save water and energy.
