Maintenance of Water Softener for Boilers

As an important thermal energy supply equipment, boilers can produce qualified hot water and steam and are now widely used in various industries. It is not difficult to find that the inner wall of the boiler will be covered with a thick layer of scale when it is operated for a long time, which will not only affect the normal use of the boiler, reduce its service life, but in severe cases, it can cause the boiler to burst or explode. Therefore, boiler water softeners should be equipped during operation.

Many people often operate boiler water softeners according to their own wishes and rarely pay attention to the correct use of the equipment, causing varying degrees of damage and shortening the service life of the equipment. The operating life of the equipment directly affects the production cost. In order to ensure long service life and stable operating speed of the equipment, we need to perform routine maintenance on the boiler water softener.

1. Stabilize the input voltage and current to prevent the electronic control device from burning out. A sealing cover should be installed outside the electronic control device to prevent moisture and flooding.

2. Add solid granular salt to the salt box regularly (refined salt or iodized salt is strictly prohibited) to make the salt solution in the salt box supersaturated. When adding salt, be careful not to sprinkle solid granular salt into the salt well, and do not form salt bridges on the salt valve and block the salt suction pipeline.

3. Since solid granular table salt contains impurities, a large amount of impurities will be deposited at the bottom of the salt tank and block the salt valve. Therefore, the impurities at the bottom of the salt tank must be cleaned regularly.

4. When cleaning, rinse with clean water until no impurities flow out. The cleaning cycle of the salt box should be confirmed based on the impurity content of solid granular salt.

5. Regularly check the air tightness of the ejector and salt suction pipeline to prevent air leakage from affecting the regeneration performance.

6. Disassemble the water softener once a year, clean the impurities in the upper and lower water distributors and the quartz sand cushion, check the loss and exchange capacity of the resin, and replace the severely aged resin. Boiler water softener care and maintenance.

Pay attention to the following when decommissioning and maintaining the boiler water softener:

1. Before the equipment is out of service for a long time, the resin should be fully regenerated, and the resin should be converted into sodium form for wet maintenance.

2. When out of service in summer, the water softener should be flushed at least once a month to prevent microorganisms from growing in the exchange tank and causing the resin to become moldy and agglomerated.

3. Antifreeze measures should be taken when stopping use in winter. Do not let the moisture in the resin freeze and cause the resin to swell and break. You can store the resin in a salt water solution. The concentration of the salt water should be prepared according to the temperature conditions.
