No matter what kind of water softener, maintenance work is required, and fully automatic water softeners are no exception. So how to maintain the water softener?
Maintenance During Use
The water softener should be disassembled once a year, the upper and lower water distributors should be cleaned, and the resin loss and exchange capacity should be checked. Seriously aged resin should be replaced. Poisoned resin can be resuscitated with hydrochloric acid solution.
Ensure that the voltage and current input to the water softener are stable and prevent the electronic control device from burning out. A sealing cover should be installed outside the electronic control device to prevent moisture and flooding.
Add solid granular salt to the brine box regularly, and ensure that the salt solution in the brinet box is in a supersaturated state. When adding salt, be careful not to sprinkle solid salt into the salt well to prevent salt bridges from forming on the salt valve and blocking the salt suction pipeline.
Maintenance When Out of Service
Before the equipment is shut down, the ion exchange resin in the tank should be fully regenerated, and the resin should be converted into sodium form for wet maintenance.
If it is deactivated in the summer, flush the water softener at least once a month to prevent microorganisms from growing in the exchange tank and causing the resin to become moldy and clumped.
Antifreeze measures should be taken when stopping use in winter to prevent the moisture in the resin from freezing and causing the resin to swell and break. The resin can be stored in a salt water solution. The concentration of the salt water should be prepared according to the temperature conditions.
