An expansion tank is a pressure vessel designed to accept the additional fluid volume created as a result of heating the water in the system. They are designed for the storage of water for pressure boost systems, as well as typical cooling/heating applications. The system’s expanded water is constrained in a heavy-duty bladder preventing tank corrosion and waterlogging problems.

The bladder type expansion tanks are designed to absorb the expansion forces of heating or cooling system water to maintain the proper system pressurization. It is mainly used for hot water and chilled water system. By holding the system water in the replaceable bladder, the tanks eliminate problems such as tank corrosion and water-logging.

Flange
Lifting Lug
Nameplate
Accessories: Pressure Gauge, Vent
Features
1. Good airtight performance, less air-water contact, ensuring that the water quality is not polluted.
2. The internal diaphragm structure of the tank ensures that there is no rust inside and no condensation outside, and the service life is long.
3. The rubber diaphragm can be expanded more than 200,000 times, and can be used for a long time after inflation.
4. Small footprint, fast installation, small investment, convenient operation and maintenance.
5. It acts as an expansion tank and automatic water replenishment in hot water heating and air conditioning systems;
Application
Widely used in central air-conditioning circulating water pressure stabilization system, hot water supply expansion system, adopt supplementation and pressure stabilization of system circulating water, water supply for firefighting, automatic sprinkler system, supplementation of water supply system for fire hydrants water pressure stabilization, frequency conversion water supply pressure stabilization, boiler water supply, pneumatic water supply, etc.
Inflation Steps of Expansion Tank
1) The commissioning of the pressurized expansion tank should be carried out in the order of first filling with nitrogen (or compressed air) and then filling with water. Before inflating, install the pressure gauge and exhaust valve to the designated position, and use the air pump to inflate 0.15Mpa nitrogen or compressed air into the inflating mouth under the tank body, up to 0.2Mpa. When finished, close the inflation valve.
2) Use the urban water supply system, open the exhaust valve when filling water, stop filling water when the air in the water chamber is exhausted, and close the exhaust valve.
Precautions
1.The air pressure tank has been pre-filled and inflated when it leaves the factory, and the user can inflate/deflate according to actual needs to achieve expansion adjustment;
2.When testing the airbag of the air pressure tank, it is recommended to test it directly with water to avoid touching the airbag with sharp devices;
3.The medium of the pressure tank is generally a mixture of water, water and antifreeze (the concentration of the mixed solution should not be higher than 50%), and other media need to be consulted in advance.
4.The pre-charging pressure of the expansion tank should be checked every six months, and if the pre-charging pressure drops, it should be inflated in time;
5.The working temperature and maximum working expansion degree are indicated on the tank body of the air pressure tank, which should be used accordingly.
